INEC Administrative Secretary in Kwara State,Mr Shehu Maiyanga while addressing Journalists during the distribution of sensitive materials at the CBN Ilorin branch,-by-ALI MUHAMMAD RABIU

Independent National Electoral Commisssion (INEC) in Kwara state has concluded the distribution of sensitive materials ahead of the Saturday March 18th Governorship and State House of Assembly Elections across the state.

Addressing Newsmen during the final distribution of the materials at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Ilorin branch, the INEC administrative Secretary, Mr Shehu Maiyanga said items distributed included result sheets , ballot papers and stamp pads.

According to him, the materials will be sent to the sixteen local government areas in the state.

He said the Commisssion had earlier carried out the batching of the materials, before the postponement of the election which makes the exercise easier and faster.

Mr Maiyanga explained that all hitches identified in the past elections have been corrected.

He noted that the Commission will ensure a free, fair and credible conduct of the election.

The INEC administrative Secretary, urged the residents of the state to conduct themselves peacefully before , during and after the elections.

In his remark the Director , National Orientation Agency, Kwara state Directorate, Mr Olusegun Adeyemi expressed satisfaction with the improvements recorded in the distribution of materials by INEC.

He said the process will help in the timely arrival of both INEC officials and materials during the election.

Mr Adeyemi appealed to the residents of the state to ensure orderliness at the polling booths.

In his comment the representative of Zenith Labour Party ,(ZLP) , Alhaji Toyin Ayinla expressed confidence that the Commission will provide level playing field for all parties in the election.

In his remark the All Progressives Congress (APC) Kwara state Chapter representative, Comrade Lawal Sulaiman Duduyemi urged the political parties to sustain the peaceful atmosphere recorded in the last election.
