Labour Party Stakeholders from Southern Kaduna extraction have Reject Pressure to Merge with any other Political Party for the gubernatorial election coming up this Saturday.

The Director, Strategy Research and Planning of the Party Dr. Polycarp Gankon stated this While addressing Newsmen in Kaduna on an aborted Labour Party and PDP planned negotiation in Southern Kaduna.

Dr. Gankon explained that the Party of recent was experiencing mounted pressure from various Southern Kaduna Socio-Cultural Groups appealing to the Labour Party Gunernatorial Candidate Mr. Jonathan Asake to step down for the PDP candidate.

He argued that since the past Twenty Four years of the present Democratic dispensation the PDP in Kaduna State has not for once zoned the governorship seat to Southern Kaduna but the Labour Party has provided that Opportunity.

He emphasised that in a recent meeting with the Southern Kaduna Stakeholders, it was unanimously agreed that among the Four Major governorship contestants, the Labour Party Candidate was the most qualified and capable of fulfilling all the Seven charter of the Southern Kaduna People and wondered why the stakeholders opted for a different candidate.

Dr. Ploycarp Gankon emphasized that the party was not contemplating any merger with a political party urging it members to defend the already well established structure of the party and jealousy guard their votes during the gubernatorial and state Houses of Assembly elections coming up this Saturday.
