The Jigawa state and local governments contributory pension scheme board has paid over 1.7 billion naira retirement benefit to 707 beneficiaries in the state.

The Executive secretary of the board, Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu Musa stated this during the payment held at pension House Dutse.

He said 239 retirement benefit of state civil servants stood at over 687 million naira, local government council has 88 beneciaries received the sum of over150 million naira while 254 local government education authority beneficiaries received over 661million naira.

Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu Musa further explained that, the death benefits of state civil servants is over 103 million naira to 38 beneficiaries, 19 local government council death beneficiaries received over 42 million naira, in which 24 beneficiaries of the local government education authority received the sum of over 77 million naira.

The executive secretary said that death pension balance have been paid to 37 beneficiaries of both state, LGC, and LGEA the sum of 39 million naira and the refund of 8 percent contribution to 8 beneciaries of state and local government council stood at over 3 million naira.

Kamilu therefore commended Governor Badaru Abubakar for his tireless efforts in assisting the citizen in every walks of life.

The pension boss said despite the election activities, Badaru directed them to pay the retirement and death benefits with a view to assist them in this trying time.

Some of the beneficiaries Kabiru Hashim from Babura, Adamu Yakubu Kandi and Suleiman Birnin kudu commended the state government for the gesture.
