The Northern Concensus Movement has called on the Chairman, Nigerian Governors Forum to as a matter of urgency investigate the recent attacks in Benue State which resulted to Loss of lives and for the perpetrators to face full wrath of the law.
The National President of the movement, Alhaji Awwal Abdullahi Aliyu stated this during a press conference at the end of a the two day Executive Committee meeting in Kaduna.
Alhaji Awwal Aliyu equally appealed to the leaders of the National Assembly to do the same with a view not to sweep the matter under the carpet while the family of the deceased should be adequately compensated.
According to him, the Northern Concensus Movement had noticed with dismayed the excessive extortion of multiple taxation to drivers that convey goods to the southern parts of the country by securities operative and unrecognized agents.
He however called on federal government to intervene to bring about lasting solutions to the menace
On the coming election, Alhaji Awwal Abdullahi Aliyu emphasised the need for paramount leaders across the north, including religion leaders and the youths to support the survival of the north.
Alhaji Auwal Abdullahi Aliyu appealed to all the Presidential Candidates from Northern Nigeria to agree within themselves to support one candidate to enjoy massive votes of the region.
