Special Delegates Conference of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) taking place in Kano on Thursday strips the National Orientation Agency (NOA) and Non-practising staff of the Ministries of Information, and Local Government Public Relations Officers of its membership status.

The special delegate session which was held at the Afficient event centre in Kano State to review the NUJ constitution gave the nod that “NOA staff and other non-practising Journalists would no longer be accorded NUJ membership.”

The August meeting presided over by the National President of the union, Chris Isiguzo agreed to expunge the affected organisation and persons from its constitution.

The delegates however maintained that members affected by the new laws who were currently serving as officials would be permitted to serve out their terms.
