Two brothers, 17 year old Abdullahi Rabiu and Musa Abdullahi, lost their lives in a toilet soak away, at sabon gari market layin Abacha in Fagge local government area of Kano.

Reports indicate that, the unfortunate incident occured while the two men decided to clear the chambers of some commercial toilets under their care for easy use.

Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, explained that, Musa lost consciousness while evacuating the soak away, while his brother Rabi’u went into the hole to assist him.

He maintained that, Musa and Rabi’u both staff of commercial toilets, suffocated due to heat and lack of oxygen before the arrival of fire fighters.

Saminu Yusif explained that, men of the state fire service successfully rescued them unconscious, and conveyed them to Murtala Muhammad Special hospital for medical attention, and later confirmed dead by doctors.

“We received an emergency call at about 08:41p.m. from one Nasir Muhammed that two people are trapped inside a soak-away”.

Saminu noted that, the remains of the victims ,were handed over to Inspector Abubakar Alhassan of Sabon Gari Police Division.

Radio Nigeria reports that, in May 2022 two men Haruba Abdullahi and Adamu Dan Jummai were trapped to death in a pit toilet at Aku village, Gaya local government area of the state.
