The new year celebration in kano state was conducted peacefully and full of joy and happiness.

Radio Nigeria Correspondent who visited some of the relaxation centers in Kano reports that parents were seen with families enjoying the cool breeze of the winter period.

Malam Bala Mansur a father of four was among the families that visited some of the relaxation centers with his family, he said his expectations for the new year were peace and harmony.

Another mother Sadiya Abdulkadir who was interviewed by a radio Nigeria correspondent at kano Zoological Garden said she visited the Garden with her kids to refresh their memory and focus on how to achieve success in the new year.

It was observed that security was on alert in case of any emergency.

Meanwhile, people were going about their normal day-to-day activities, markets, shopping malls, and other business activities were all taking as usual.

A lot of kano residents who spoke on the New year celebrations prayed for continuous peace and successful conduct of the forthcoming general elections .
