The Inspector General of Police ,Usman Alkali Baba says the ten thousand police constables that passed out will be deployed to provide security during the 2023 general elections .

The Inspector General of Police stated this at the passing out parade of the 2022 batch of police constables in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Represented by the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of zone eight Lokoja, Ashafa Adekunle ,the Inspector General , said all the graduating recruit constables would be deployed to complement officers on the forthcoming election security duties across the nation.

Alkali -Baba said explained that the highly challenging rigorous, physical, and intellectual training would enable the recruits meet the emerging security challenges within the dictates of the rule of law.

He said that the recruitment exercise was spread over the 774 local government areas of the country with due regard to federal character considerations .

The inspector general noted that in the attainment of community policing goals, the recruits will all be posted back to their various local government areas to further entrench the policing strategy of the federal government.

In his remark, Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq represented by his senior special assistant on Security, Alhaji Muyideen Aliyu, advised the constables to discharge their duties in accordance with the provisions of the law.

Earlier in his address ,the Commisssioner of Police Kwara State command, Paul Odama enjoined the new recruit policemen to maintain high level of discipline and shun corruption.

Four hundred and forty eight police recruits passed out from the College in Kwara State.
