Kaduna State Police Command has reiterated its commitment towards eradicating all forms of security threats across the State.

Commissioner of Police, Mr Yekini Ayoku gave the assurance while briefing newsmen in Kaduna.

Mr Yekini Ayoku explained that upon assumption of duty in April this year, the need for urgent safeguard of commuters along Kaduna-Abuja expressway in the absence of rail service and commercial air operation was considered paramount and imperative.

He maintained that these challenges necessitated the need to adjust existing architecture to effectively contain the prevalence of crimes across the State.

The Commissioner of Police noted that the objective yielded positive result as the command recorded minimum security threats within the period under review.

Some of the breakthroughs recorded by the Command according to the CP included arrest and conviction of suspects, rescue of kidnapped victims, recovery of arms and ammunitions, recovery of rustled livestock, as well as recovery of bandits’ operational motorcycles.

Others include interception of Indian hemp, while twenty-one bandits were neutralised.

On next year’s general elections, Mr Ayoku warned politicians to avoid actions and conducts that are contrary to extant laws guiding the electoral act.

Mr Yekini Ayoku assured that the Police shall continue to enhance existing inter-agency collaboration for effective onslaught against criminal elements in the State.
