House of Representative Candidate under the platform of African Democratic Congress Party ADC for Chikun Kajuru Federal Constituency in Kaduna state Hawwa Abdullahi Gambo has called for urgent relief materials to ameliorate the suffering of Internally Displaced Persons IDPs in her constituency.

Hajiya Hawwa Abdullahi Gambo who visited the IDP camps in Kajuru and Chikun Local Government Areas to distribute food items and clothing lamented the poor state and situation of the people noting that what she saw was hopelessness and despair on their faces.

She however commended their resilience over the years by staying and surviving in camps for security other than their homes.

Hajiya Hawwa Abdullahi Gambo explained that the distribution of rice, clothing and other items was to give them a sense of belonging and also to enable them celebrate the end of year festivities with others.

The ADC Candidate Sympathized with the IDPs on the situation they found themselves urging them to have faith and trust in God, because he is able to change their bad situations to better.

The Kajuru Local Government, IDP Chairman Francis Kwasau Kufana, said there were over 20 camps within the Kajuru constituency and commended the candidate for her show of love and for deeming it fit to identify with the affected persons in the camp.

Mr. Kwasau Kufana who appealed on wealthy individuals to assist in managing the situation noted that NEMA and some NGO’s have visited the area but more assistance is needed because of the population.

Some of the beneficiaries of the donated items Maria Tanimu, Blessing Samiala, Mary Christopher and Jonah Jude appreciated the gesture stressing that some of them spent more than 5 months at the hand of bandits while property and homes of others where completely destroyed.

Some also lamented that they have lost their breadwinners adding that their concern was for someone who will emerge from any party to wipe away their tears.
