Reverend Timothy Maigida, Chairman Kasuwan Magani ECWA District Church Council at the News briefing

The Evangelical Church Winning All ECWA of Kasuwan Magani District Kaduna State, has appealed to Federal and State government for immediate intervention on security challenges in the area which have affected socio economic activities due to number of killings and kidnappings since 2016.

District Chairman of the Church, Reverend Timothy Maigida made the call while briefing newsmen on the kidnapping of five members two days ago and the killing of over eight hundred people in the area from January to November this year.

Reverend Timothy Maigida lamented that several members of the community including pastors, were being abducted with huge ransoms paid before their release.

According to him, the Kasuwa Magani ECWA District spread across Chikun and Kajuru Local Governments and have been targets of attacks by the bandits.

“early this year, bandits stormed ECWA Buda II during Sunday service and took the pastor, Rev Dauda Isah alongside some of his elders to captivity in his clerical gown. In July we buried Rev. Buba Adamu who was killed at Tudu Iburu in the auditorium by bandits. In October it was a pastor’s wife from Kallah Mrs. Esther Jumare Danborono was taken captive with their daughter along with other church members. It’s barely two weeks now that a pastor’s wife, Mrs. Sarah Sunday Shamaki came back from captivity”

He said the Church in view of all the devastations have decided to hold a sober reflection service next sunday at Kasuwan Magani that will involve people within and outside Kaduna to help rebuild the homes, churches and communities destroyed by activities of the bandits.
