Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger state has expressed happiness that life has returned to normal at Kagara communities in Rafi local government council of the state which has been bedeviled by banditry in the past.
The Governor was speaking at the presentation of staff of office to the Emir of Kagara Alh Ahmed Garba Attahiru the second at his palace in Kagara Rafi local government council of Niger state.
Alh Abubakar Sani Bello recalled that Kagara Emirate was challenged with insecurity whereby villages were occupied by bandits.
He however expressed satisfaction that in the last few months due to action and proactiveness by security agents normalcy had returned to Kagara Emirate and some parts of Niger state that were hitherto affected by insurgents.
The Governor also attributed the successes recorded to the collaboration between the Kagara Emirate Rafi local government council and the Niger state government saying that it is his prayer that such peaceful atmosphere will continue to be sustained.
Alh Abubakar Sani Bello therefore appealed to the people of Kagara Emirate and Nigerlites to as a matter of urgency report any unusual movement around their communities to security agencies to enable them assist in curbing out the menace for maximum benefit.
Receiving the staff of office the new first class Emir of Kagara Alh Ahmed Garba Attahiru the second thanked Governor Abubakar Sani Bello for his sacrifice in making this event a reality as well as applauded all dignataries that graced this historic occasion from far and near and assured of his resolved to discharge his reign with fear of Allah.
Among the dignataries that attended the event were the Etsu Nupe and Chairman Niger state council of traditional rulers Alh Yahaya Abubakar Emir of Zazzau Suleja Malam Auwal Ibrahim Sarkin Sudan of Kontagora Alh Mohammed Barau Muazu the second and Emir of Bichi in Kano state Alh Nasiru Ado Bayero members of National and state Houses of Assembly and other personalities from Niger state Nigeria and beyond.
