UPDATE KANO MARKET FIRE:
Fire guts store at singer market
Kano State Fire Service says fire had destroyed a store at singer market in Kano.
Public Relations Officer of the agency , PFS Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Kano.
According to him, the agency received a distress call on Tuesday at 09:49 am from one Abubakar Muhammad.
He explained that, a rescue team was immediately mobilized to the scene at about 9:52am, where it was discovered that a one storey building was engulfed by inferno.
Saminu Yusif highlighted that, the building used as a store where biscuits, chewing gum and sweets are kept was completely razed by the outbreak.
He maintained that, the fire fighters succeeded in quenching the fire to avoid it spreading to other shops in the market.
The public relations officer pointed out that no life was lost nor injured during the unfortunate incident.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation,”.
