Niger state government says it will continue to support all federal government  agencies and commissions in the state to enable them discharge of responsibilities diligently.

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello stated this at the stakeholders forum on proposed Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission HYPPADEC medium term strategic plan 2022 – 2027 held in Minna.

Represented by his deputy Ahmed Mohammed Ketso, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello commended the Federal Government and HYPPADEC for demonstrating resilience in tackling the plight of those living on the banks of River Niger , Kaduna and Benue.

He congratulated the management of HYPPADEC for the accomplishments recorded in the short period of its existence and called for more to succeed.

Chairman Governing Council HYPPADEC Mr Joseph Terfa applauded Niger state government for the strategic role it has been playing to enhance the objective and mandate of HYPPADEC for effective service delivery.

Also speaking, Managing Director of HYPPADEC Alhaji Abubakar Sadik Yelwa explained that arrangements have been concluded by the commission to provide housing units for people displaced by flood at Ketso and Muregi resettlement centres to ameliorate their hardship.

Emir of Agaie Alhaji Yusuf Nuhu who spoke on behalf of the Emirs in Niger state assured of their support at all times and called for routine and massive intervention in the areas of security and health among others.

Niger state APC Governorship Candidate Alh Umar Mohammed Bago stressed the need for the provision of specific role for traditional rulers in HYPPADEC to benefit from the wealth of experience.
