Traditional Rulers in Plateau State have been asked to shun partisan Politics and concentrate on uniting the people and sustain peace in their domains.

The Plateau state Governor Simon Bako Lalong stated this during the installation and presentation of a first class staff of office to Da John Putmang Hirse as the new Mishkaham Mwagavul in Mangu Local Government Area of the State.

Lalong warned traditional rulers who are always in the habit of being used by politicians to create division, violence in their communities to diseases from it for their selfish political interest.

The Governor while congratulating the New mishkaham Mwagavul Da John Putmang Horse for ascending the throne, said he has a very enviable record of service within his people, Plateau and the country at large,gives anticipation that he will Excell in the responsibility given him.

The Mishkaham Mwagavul, in his acceptance speech has pledged himself for service to his people, the state and the country.


He added that, during his raign he will create more districts and chiefdoms amongst other notable intentions.

The new ruler was installed months after his predecessor Da Nelson Andak Bakfur died late last year where a vacume was created.
