Journalists in Niger state have been asked to take the ownership of the Population and Housing Census and consider it as their personal project to ensure its success.

Federal Commissioner National Population Census in charge of Niger state Malam Dattijo Usman said this at the commencement of online recruitment portal for the twenty twenty three Population and Housing Census held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists IBB Pen House Minna.

Malam Dattijo Usman maintained that consequent to that Journalists covering the twenty twenty three Population and Housing Census are to be given special sim cards to enable them communicate effective without any problem of network connectivity at any place in Nigeria.

He said the National Population Commission consideredJournalists as not only friends and critical stakeholders but a strong ally in achieving the first ever fully digital census by the National Population Commission in Nigeria for maximum results.

The Federal Commissioner National Population Commission however reassured Nigerlites that the Commission is on course and that it will continue to be open and transparent in its match towards the twenty twenty three Population and Housing Census.

According to him with the launched of E_Recruitment Portal for the twenty twenty three Population and Housing Census in Abuja  by Chairman of the Commission Alh Nasir Isa Kwarra recruitment process for functionaries for the exeecise has formally commenced.

Malam Dattijo Usman further told Nigerlites that the bulk of personnel for the twenty twenty three census will be drawn from the communities where they are residing.

He however added that special provision has been made to accomodate the disabled and other special populations in the recruitment process to give every Nigerlites and indeed Nigerians a sense of belonging.
