Federal Government has directed for the immediate reversal of the 10 percent tariff on voice and data services by telecom service providers.

In a statement by the Director Public Affairs of the Nigeria Communication Commission, Reuben Muoka, the federal government through the Commission says the directive was to ease the hardship faced by Nigerians.

The statement says the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Pantami through a letter sent to the NCC directed the affected Mobile Network Operators to reverse the upward tariff adjustment immediately.

It says the Commission will carry our further consultations with all industry stakeholders on the best approaches that will protect the interest of both the consumers and the service providers.
