About sixty eight thousand two hundred and eighty ( 68,280 ) free text books in core subjects have been distributed to primary school pupils across the sixteen local government area of Kwara state.

Speaking at the flagg-off of the distribution of the text books at Shao LGEA primary school in Moro local government area of the state, governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazq said his administration will leave no child of school age behind on account of lack of access to learning materials .

AbdulRazq who was represented by his deputy ,Mr Kayode Alabi said the free text books will be distributed to pupils in primary four, five and six across the state.

He expressed delight that efforts by the state government to strengthen partnership with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) has been yielding positive results.

AbdulRazq said in addition to the distribution of free text books, the state government has carried out massive infrastructural renewals , invested in technology, as well as recruitment of competent teachers.

In his address the Executive Chairman Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KWSUBEB), Professor Shehu Adaramaja, said the efforts of the state government on education has earned the state various interventions.

He said the distribution of the textbooks in core subjects like English Language, Mathematics, Basic Science and Technology is a major morale booster to teachers and pupils in the basic education sector.

In his remark the , Ohoro of Shao, Oba Adegbite Alabi appreciated Kwara State Government for the unrelenting efforts to revamp the education sector.
