A cleric and peace ambassador, Pastor Yohanna Buru has called for better understanding and acceptance among different faith based organizations to ensure peaceful co-existence in the country.

Pastor Buru made the call in Kaduna in commemoration of the international day of tolerance instituted by UNESCO in 1995.

The clergyman while commenting on the importance of the day said tolerance as a virtue will enable people to accept one another irrespective of ethnic, tribal, religious or racial background.

He said no society could attain socio-economic and political development in the absence of peace, harmony and tolerance.

Yohanna Buru said his organization had embarked on periodic advocacy with Islamic scholars aimed at promoting religious understandding and tolerance among christians, muslims and people from different ethnic background.

The peacer ambassador appeal urged the Christian Association of Nigeria and Jama’atul Nasri Islam, to intensify preaching on the slogan of one family under God to their adherents.
