The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai, has inspected the ongoing construction of 117 unit of housing accommodations for officers at 73 Battalion, Janguza, Kano.

Buratai inspected the ongoing project at 73 Battalion, Janguza, Rimin Gado Local Government Area of the state.

The chief of Army staff was conducted round the project by Major Ganiyu Akorede., Commanding officer, 3-Brigade Maintenance Group (BMO).

Speaking during the inspection, Akuredu said the project comprised 72 units of 7-blocks for Corporals and other ranks and file.

Akuredu said that 30 housing unit of one semi-attached bedrooms were being constructed for officers’ transit accommodation, while 15 houses were for officers.

He listed other projects to include parameter fencing of the barrack to enhance security, adding that the project were part of the COAS’s commitment to improve personnel welfare and reposition the army.

The ongoing project is also part transformational agenda embarked by the chief of Army staff ,aimed at improving the living condition of the personnel of the Nigeria Army.
