Kaduna State High Court sitting in Dogarawa at Sabon Gari, Zaria has ruled that Alhaji Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli is the 19th Emir of Zazzau.

The presiding judge, Justice Kabir Dabo, also ruled that the Emir can be inaugurated on Monday, November 9, by the state governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai.

The ruling followed a suit filed by Iyan Zazzau, Bashar Aminu, challenging the appointment of the new Emir.

Alhaji Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, the former Nigerian ambassador to Thailand emerged as the first emir from the Mallawa ruling house 100 years after the demise of his grandfather, Emir Dan Sidi in 1920.
