Dr Babangida Hussaini

The former Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Works and Housing Dr Babangida Hussaini has been declared the winner of the just concluded primary elections for the Jigawa North-West senatorial district.

The election was held peacefully at Gumel Emirate Foundation in Gumel local government area of Jigawa state.

Announcing the result, the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Mallam Mujitabba Sale Kwalam said a total number of 635 votes was accredited while 605 votes were cast and 5 votes invalid.

He explained that out of the total votes cast, Dr Babangida Hussaini, also the Walin Kazaure scored 527 votes and Senator Abdullahi Ojo Gumel scored 73 votes respectively.

In an acceptance speech, the senatorial candidate, Dr Babangida Hussaini thanked Governor Badaru Abubakar and the ruling All Progressives Congress APC for giving him the mandate to contest in the forthcoming 2023 general election.

He commended the efforts of party supporters for their support and understanding during the exercise.

He pledged to operate an open door policy if elected as Senator representing Jigawa NorthWest in the 2023 polls.

Dr Babangida Hussaini promised that he would execute meaningful development projects in line with the yearning and aspirations of his constituents.
