The executive vice chairman of the Nigeria communication commission NCC professor Umar Garba Dambatta has warn Nigerians desist from patronizing pre-registered sim cards,aimed at enhancing the nation’s security.

He said the Nigerian communication commission was up and doing in ensuring that the prevalence of pre registered sim cards was curtailed in the country.

Professor Umar Garba Dambatta maintained that recently NCC discovered a syndicate selling active registered sim cards to the public ,which is against the law.

He charged the citizens of the country to ensure that they registered any sim card they purchase before activating it,saying purchasing active sim without registration is illegal and a crime.

The NCC boss noted that, construction of Digital parks In all the Geo political zones was in the process,aimed at equipping the citizenry with new innovations and tecniques aimed at profelling innovations.

He explained that when the Digital parks were completed their would be no restrictions on those that would be accessing the services of the park,geared towards improving the economy of the Nation.

Professor Umar Garba Dambatta noted that NCC being the regulator of the accessibility of the the services was not in control of the content,yet if frowns on the prevalence of fake news that has become so rampant on social media.

Speaking on the issue Data services, the NCC boss said Nigerian was among the countries that enjoys law Tarrif in Africa.

He said Nigeria falls at number four in the ranking of data services and cost in Africa.

Professor Umar Garba Dambatta reassured the commitment of NCC in achieving the desired objectives.
