President Muhammadu Buhari has met with Ohanaeze Ndigbo and south-east leaders in Ebonyi state.

Earlier on Friday, President Buhari met the group at the new exco chambers, Government House, Abakaliki, led by its President-General George Obiozor.

The president is in Ebonyi for a two-day working visit.

Ohanaeze said in a statement issued at the conclusion of its general meeting in Abakaliki on Tuesday that Buhari’s two-day working visit to Ebonyi would kick-start the process of releasing Nnamdi Kanu.

IPOB and other Biafra Agitators must keep the peace and remain committed to the procedure that will lead to the release of their leader, the group said.

They reiterated the plea at the meet with the president.

President Buhari, on the other hand, stated that it is critical that the court rule on Kanu’s case.

Kanu is facing a treasonable felony charge on an amended 15-count charge.
