Edo State Government has imposed a twenty four hour curfew across the state starting from 4pm today.

A statement issued by Secretary to State Government, Mr. Osarodion Ogie said the curfew became necessary due to disturbing incidents of vandalism and attacks on private individuals and institutions by hoodlums in the guise of #ENDSARS protesters.

It emphasised that while Edo State government respects the rights of its citizens to undertake in legitimate protests, it would not sit idly when hoodlums have taken laws into their hands to cause mayhem on innocent citizens and the state.

The statement further directs schools and businesses to shut down activities while those who cannot move safely have been advised to stay put till calm is restored.
