Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria, has received 3 Nigerian artefacts that were repatriated from the United States of America.

He called for the strengthening of border security capabilities to deter smuggling and other illegal activities.

He presented the artefacts to Professor Abba Tijjani, Director General of the National Commission for Museums and Monuments.

On Thursday in Abuja, the Consul-General of Nigeria in New York, Ambassador Lot Egopija, delivered the work of art to the Minister, stating that negotiations were underway to recover more of the country’s stolen antiquities.
