Women in Kwara state have staged a rally to canvass support for second term bid of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for promoting women and girl-child issues in his administration.

Speaking with journalists, at the NUJ press center ,Ilorin , the convener and coordinator of the group, Mrs. Funmi Adefila, said that the pro-women achievements of the governor should not go unrewarded by women in the state.

According to her in the last two years the State has witnessed a deliberate
effort by the present administration to mainstream gender inclusion in governance.

She explained that no administration in modern history of Nigeria has done so well to bring women to the decision making table.

Mrs Adefila said in cabinet composition the administration gave 56.25 per cent positions to women as well as in headship of government agencies and parastatals.

She noted that this has a far-reaching consequences on public policies and programmes.
