The federal government has reaffirmed its commitment to repairing and reconstruction of major highways, schools, and institutions aimed at uplifting the well-being of the general populace.

Minister of Works and Housing Babatunde Raji Fashola stated this during the handing over of the federal government intervention of internal roads at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano.

The minister, represented by the federal controller in Kano Engineer Yahaya Baba Ali said the federal government was committed to repairing of roads at federal tertiary institutions across the country.

He said the ministry had successfully intervened in the internal road networks of forty six federal tertiary institutions and had handed over 29 in 2021, while 17 completed road networks were ready for hand over and currently 30 roads in similar institutions were ongoing.

Earlier the Chief Medical Director of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital Professor Abdurrahman Abba Sheshe commended the foresight and commitment of the federal government for executing the project.

He noted that the intervention would go a long way in easing transportation hardship in the hospital community, and urged the staff and visitors of the hospital to utilize the facility judiciously.

Professor Abdurrahman Abba Sheshe applauded the gesture of philanthropists to the hospital through donations of cash, construction of important buildings, and purchase of essential equipment among others.

The ceremony was attended by officials from the federal ministry of works and Aminu kano teaching hospital.
