The Minister of Power, Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu, has given assurance that the current problem in nationwide electricity supply will soon be dealt with.

Speaking with State House correspondents in Abuja, after being summoned by President Buhari, the Minister said the problem was caused by the activities of vandals, inadequate gas supply, and maintenance of some electrical machinery.

He said however that the major factors causing the problem had been redressed, adding that the situation will soon be stabilised.

Also speaking the outcome of his summon, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State called for a speedy investigation to unravel the perpetrators of violence in his state.

Governor Uzodinma, who lamented that progress could not be achieved in a chaotic situation, called on the aggrieved parties to lay down arms and engage in the dialogue initiated by the state government.

He said President Buhari had agreed to his request for additional security personnel to arrest the situation and ensure peace.
