Former Head of State, General Abdussalami Abubakar (RTD)

Youths in the country have been cautioned against allowing themselves to be used by politicians as agent of violence and disharmony.

Instead they should be channelled into useful ventures for self reliance.

Former Head of State General Abdulsalami Abubakar retired said this in his acceptance speech after being confered with a honourary doctorate decree by the Federal University of Technology Minna at its thirty eighth Founders Day and thirtieth convocation ceremonies.

General Abdulsalami Abubakar streesed the need for politicians to play the game of politics according to its rule to achieve maximum benefits.

According to him all the four awardees of FUT Minna honourary doctorate decrees President African Development Bank DR Akinwumi Adesina Chairman BUA Group Abdul Samad Rabiu and the Group Managing Director NNPC Malam Mele Kolo Kyari have promised to serve as good ambassadors of the university.

On security General Abdulsalami Abubakar said security forces have been over stretched and called for the provision of intelligence by general public to defeat all forms of banditry and criminality.

Niger state Governor Alh Abubakar Sani Bello thanked the management of FUT Minna for finding those four prominent Nigerians worthy of its honourary doctorate decrees assuring that they will not disappoint the university.

In his remarks Vice Chancellor Federal University of Technology Minna Prof Abdullahi Bala said the university has organised morethan thirty in house training for its staff in four years to enhance their performance.

Chancellor of the university the Deji and paramount rule of Akure his majesty Oba Aladetoyimbo Ogunlade declared the convocation closed.
