Zamfara State Police Command has paraded one Chukwuka Jude, for impersonation and eight others for various offences including culpable homicide and kidnapping.
Parading the suspects, before newsmen in Gusau, the command’s Public Relations Officer , SP Muhammed Shehu said, the fake lawyer Chukwuka Jude was arrested following a complaint received from the Chairman Nigerian Bar Association Zamfara state chapter.
The command said Chukwuka falsely claimed to be a lawyer and appeared in a Higher Sharia Court Tudun Wada, Gusau to represent a client
He said Chukwuka was caught inside the High Shari’a Court Tudun Wada Gusau
SP Muhammad Shehu noted that, preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect had been putting up appearance in different Courts at Kauran Namoda, Shinkafi and Gusau local government areas.
Exhibits recovered from him include ID card of fake law firm, NJ Monyei and Co. Chamber, office stamp and letter head of the same fake firm.
Other suspects included one Hamza Lawal who was arrested for the offence of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide, Saminu Abubakar S/ Fada of Tudun Wada area arrested for kidnapping of one Alhaji Yusuf Gada Biyu, where he collected the sum of 479,400 Naira as his own share of seven million naira ransom.
The six other suspects were Hamza Abubakar, Sani Abubakar, Babangida Tukur, Ibrahim Muhammed, Mani Muhammed and Umma Kusari, arrested in connection with the alleged theft of a motor vehicle and receiving stolen properties in Gummi local government area.
According to the police spokesman exhibits recovered from them included Toyota Corolla black in color, Toyota Corolla red in color and N500,000 as proceed of crime.
He said that all suspects had confessed and would be charged to court after investigation was completed.
