Federal Government has assured its readiness to end banditry activities in Zamfara State and other parts of the country.

Minister of Defence Major General Bashir Salihi Magashi retired announced this in Gusau, the state capital when he led a federal government delegation on a sympathy and condolence visit to government and people of the state.

General Magashi said federal government was doing its best towards addressing the issue by providing all the necessary support to security personnel and government of Zamfara to make banditry activities a thing of the past.

He also assured federal government’s support to the victims of the ugly trend and their families to survive as well as revive the socio-economic activities of the state.

Earlier, the minister of humanitarian affairs and Disaster management Hajia Saadiya Umar Faruk announced donation of bags of rice, beans, maize,cooking oil, salt,and clothes to victims of the attack in Anka and Bukuyum local government areas of the state.

Receiving the delegation at government house Gusau, Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle, commended the effort of federal government for accepting all the request by the state government in order to address the issue.

Matawalle also called on federal government to provide adequate resources to the state to enable it resettle the people in their respective localities.
