Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has lifted the ban on the use of motorcycles in Yobe North and South Senatorial Zones.

Governor Buni who made the announcement during a visit to Nguru town over the recent fire incident in the area said the order was with immediate effect.

According to the governor, the lifting of the ban is meant to ease the hardship of citizens, facilitate easy transportation and cost-effective movement and as well as enhance farming activities and the best interest of the state.

With this directive, people of 10 local government areas of Yobe State are now at liberty to use motorcycles which were banned since 2012 due to the rise in the activities of insurgents.
