House of Representatives has passed the sum of over seventeen trillion naira as the nation’s budget estimate for 2022 financial year.

This followed the adoption of the report of the house Committee on Appropriation by the Commitee Chairman Alhaji Muktar Aliyu Betara.

Presenting the report on the floor of the house, the Chairman Appropriation Commitee Alhaji Muktar Aliyu Betara, explained that following some adjustments the 2022 budget had witnessed an increase of over 800 billion naira.

The Commitee Chairman said of the 2022 budget size, over six trillion naira had been earmarked for recurrent expenditures while over five trillion naira was set aside for capital expenditures.

He also confirmed that over three trillion naira was allocated for debt services and over eight hundred billion for statutory transfers in the 2022 fiscal year.

Most of the lawmakers that spoke on the 2022 budget expressed optimism that if properly implemented, would impact positively in transforming the lives of Nigerians.
