Niger Govẹrnment to make Civil Servants more efficient, effective

Niger state govẹrment has said that it will take the issue of welfare and personal development of workers as priority aspect of its administration.

This could be done through deliberate policies and programme designed to make Civil Servants more effective productive and result oriented.

State Governor Alh Abubakar Sani Bello stated this at the fourth Annual meeting of the Association of Niger state Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries held in Minna the state capital.

Represented by Secretary to the Niger State Government Ahmed Ibrahim Matane Governor Abubakar Sani Bello also challenged them to submit to government a roburst plan that would rivitalise and reposion the state Civil Service for maximum benefits.

On current screening of pensioners he said it was done to ensure that genuine welfare needs of both serving and retired Civil Servants are met.

In her remarks Niger state Head Of Service Hajiya Salamatu Abubakar who expressed hoped that resolutions generated from the meeting would be of great benefits to both Niger state and Nigeria also assured them of continued governments support at all times.

Speaker Niger state House of Assembly Barr Abdullahi Bawa Wuse represented by his Deputy Ndagi Baba described the meeting as apt and assured Niger state govẹrnment of their rediness to synergise in coming up with resolutions that would eliminate all bottlenecks regarding issues of both serving and retired Civil Servants.

Chairman Association of Niger state Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries Alh Muhammad Aliyu Madugu lamented that necessary training and restraining of Civil Servants have been lacking which he said had eroded their capacity in discharging their duties deligently.

Chairman Organising Committee and one time Head Of Service Alh Khadi Kuta said the theme of this yearsAnnual meeting is Reinvegorating the State Civil Service For Attaining Sustainable Peace Justice And Strong Institutions also said it was aimed at promoting good governance and improved welfare of its members.
