President Muhammadu Buhari has saved Nigeria’s Governors from shame and public disgrace.

Governor Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State stated this at the official Commissioning and handing over of Kano -Maiduguri Road Section II of Shuwarin-Azare in Jigawa State.

According to him, achievements made so far by the Governors of the 36 states would not have been possible without the support and assistance from president Buhari.

Badaru Abubakar explained that without Buhari’s support Governors would find it difficult to fulfill all the promises made to their people before elections.

He pointed out that, when governors were first sworn in, about 24 to 26 states were not able to pay salaries but the president supported and bail them out with 10 billion Naira to start infrastructure.

The Governor said the federal government paid states all the monies spent on Federal roads, Paris club deductions to states and Local Government, and recently approved 18 billion naira to the 36 states to augment the effects of loan deductions.

“Without these supports, other Governors and I may not have been able to stand because of shame, with those supports we are now delivering on our promises and mandates”

Badaru Abubakar, therefore, urged Nigerians to appreciate Buhari and continue to pray for an end to the insecurity situation in the country.
