2022 Budget Targeted At Education, Health – Kano LG Chairmen

Kano state house of assembly has reaffirmed its commitment in making laws aimed at uplifting the standard of living among people especially at the grassroots level.

The chairman house standing committee on local governments and chieftancy affairs, Alhaji Nasiru Abdullahi Dutsen Amare, stated this shortly after the budget defence of the 44 local government areas, held in kano.

According to him, the house had invited all the local government chairmen to appear before the committees to defend their proposed budgets for the 2022 fiscal year.

Alhaji Nasiru said, so far only three local governments were asked to make certain corrections on their proposals.

He said the house was committed to ensuring that the general public enjoy the dividends of democracy through careful deliberations on the proposed 2022 budget to accommodate policies and programs aimed at improving their welfare according to global practice.

Some of the chairmen who spoke to Radio Nigeria, Muhammad Abdullahi from Dambatta, Kabiru Sulaiman Dunbulun and Mahe Garba from Tsanyawa, and Gabasawa local governments, respectively said their proposed budgets will focus more attention on the provision of quality edication, health, agriculture, infrastructural development among others.

They urged the general public to complement governments efforts by sending their children to school as education is the backbone of any meaningful society.

Radio Nigeria recalls that the kano state house of assembly had invited all the 44 local government chairman to appear before the committees set up by the house to defend their 2022 proposed budget, shortly after receiving the final draft from the state ministry for local governments and chieftancy affairs last Monday.
