In an effort to enhance quality healthcare delivery at the grass-root,
the Kaduna state government in collaboration with the Global Health
Network has flagged off training exercise for primary healthcare
workers on the use of digital elephant platforms to access
comprehensive healthcare in the state.
Declaring the pilot program open, head of operations, Elephant
Healthcare Mr. Zorbari Stephen explained that the exercise became
imperative following the need to build the capacity of the primary
healthcare workers on the use of digital technology to enable them
step down the training to the different departments in their various
health facilities across the state.
He said the new innovation was efficient and accurate in the area of
data collection, record keeping and general administration in the
sector.
According to Zorbari, the Elephant healthcare is an enabled global
network with connected personalized healthcare access to everyone,
noting that, the system has been digitized in nine primary healthcare
facilities in the state.
Speaking during the training, Mrs. Ashia Bello who is the in charge of
the primary healthcare centre, Zango in Tudun Wada Kaduna said the
initiative is a welcome development that would go a long way in
improving service delivery in the state.
Some participants at the training Mr. Victor Usman from makera PHC and
Rita Ignatius from PHC television garage who expressed satisfaction
with the training said, with the new innovation, the confidentiality
of patient’s records were assured.
Earlier, the head of operations said so far, nine facilities including
the PHC Barnawa, Television, Zango, Makera and Kabala West have
started using the Elephant healthcare system in kaduna state.
