The speaker of the Kano state house of assembly Engineer Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari has condoled with government and people of Kano state over the tragic incident that occured at Badau river in Bagwai local government area.

In a statement signed by the director press of the Kano state house of assembly, Malam Uba Abdullahi and made available to radio Nigeria in Kano described the incident as unfortunate and prayed for the repose of the souls and speedy recovery of those injured.

Engineer Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari urged residents of the area to exercise patience as search is on going to recover the remaining bodies.

He noted that the state government had made adequate provisions to assist families of the deceased as well as those receiving treatment.

Radio Nigeria recalled that a boat conveying over 50 passengers mostly Islamiyya students had capsized at Badau river in Bagwai local government area claiming the lives of many people.
