Two Hundred Women Receive Food Packages In Zamfara

Zamfara State Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development Hajiya Fai’ka M Ahmed

Zamfara State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management has distributed food items to two hundred beneficiaries from eighteen communities in Yandoton Daji Town of Tsafe Local Government Area of the state.

Speaking while distributing the items, Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Fa’ika Ahmad assured that the gesture was to cushion the hardship being experienced by the women especially the widows.

She urged them to ensure judicious utilization of the food given to them and not to indulge in selling the package which includes rice and beans.

One of the beneficiaries Malama Delu Abubakar who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries thanked the State Government for the gesture and pledged to use it judiciously.

Similarly, the state government also commended the Institute of Disaster Management and Safety Science for the capacity building of disaster managers in Nigeria.

The Commissioner Of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management made the commendation at the Induction and Training On Global Disaster Crisis, Climate Change Perspectives.

She explained that the training of the disaster managers came at the time the Governor was keenly interested in capacity building of the State Government Officials for better service delivery.

Fa’ika Ahmad urged the participants to be good ambassadors of the Institute and work round the clock with relevant stakeholders with a view to safeguarding humanity.

The Commissioner was presented with a certificate and an award as an Icon Of Excellence/ Honourary Fellow for her contribution to building a safe and disaster-free society.
