Governor Bello Mohammed of Zamfara state has announced the reopening of some selected markets as relief of stringent measures earlier taken by the state Government.

This was contained in a statement issued to newsmen in Gusau by the Special Adviser Public Enlightenment, Media and Communications, Alhaji Zailani Bappa.

The selected markets include the Livestock markets in Gummi, Bagega, Danjibga, Kasuwar Daji, Tsafe, Talata-Mafara and Nasarawar Godel.

Governor Matawalle said the decision to reopen these markets followed improvement in the security situation in the state in the last one month and the concern of the state Government to the hardship being faced by citizens.

Matawalle also warned that nobody was allowed to, take laws into their hands even in an obvious breach, as Government would no longer take it kindly with any person or groups killing people wantonly in market places as was obtained in the past

Governor Matawalle further called on traditional rulers and other community leaders to ensure the new measure was monitored and tailored to succeed so that more relaxation of stringent measures can follow in due course.
