Policy Dialogue on security issues has been Described a major tool of addressing security Challenges and other related issues in the Northern part of the country .

Director, Centre for Peace , Diplomatic and Development Studies (CPDDS) , University of Maiduguri, Professor Abubakar Mu’azu stated this during a policy dialogue training for Stakeholders held in kano.

He said the policy Dialogue sensitization training on security and human rights challenges in parts of the Northern part of the Nation was organized with the aim fine-tuning modalites of addressing the Security Challenges.

Professor Abubakar Mu’azu explained that serious security challenges such as terrorism, banditry, cattle rustling, farmer – herder clashes among others have brought a great set back in the development of the nation, hence there was the need for all stakeholders to come on board and Network together ,with the aim of curtailing the menace.

“The Northern part of the Country that used to be very safe and secure relates to other parts of the country,Today has become a very difficult place to live because of different security challenges,
Terrorism in the North East,Banditry – cattle Rustling in the North West , kidnapping – farmers herders Clash in the North Central, that’s why we brought stakeholders together to rub minds on how to move forward”

The Director maintained that the meeting would help the participants to network together and build better relationship so that they would pursue a common Goal.

In a remark a professor of History from University of Maiduguri, Garba Ibrahim said the Dialogue meeting was a great opportunity for providing a comprehensive policy recommendations to the concerned authorities geared towards ensuring security of lives and property.

Alhassan Yaya from Gombe state and Amina Ahmed from Bauchi, both participants at the meeting, said it had built their capacity on measures of enhancing security in the country.

The meeting was attended by the security, media ,legal practitioners ,vigilantee, university lectures and other stakeholders.
