A member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency, in the house of Assembly Simon Mwadkwon, has trained about a hundred and fifty Constituents consisting of Women and Youths.

The event took place at Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The training on Animal Production and Agric business, which was conducted by Professionals from the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, NVRI Vom in collaboration with ELLA-UNE Synergy & Logistics Limited.

The Women and Youths went through intensive Poultry Training and agric business were given twenty-five birds as well as funds as startup capital and made to form a Cooperative Group consisting of Four Members each to invest the funds disbursed to them in the Poultry and Agric businesses.

Simon Mwadkwon said the decision was in fulfilment of his campaign promise of empowering the people and reducing poverty in the Constituency.

According to him, the gesture has the propensity to enhance economic sustainability, make the beneficiaries financially stable and self-reliant.

Mwadkwon admonished them to put the training received to effective use and ensure they use the inputs and the capital disbursed to them judiciously.

The Lawmaker said he will not relent in providing credible leadership and lifting the people from poverty through numerous empowerment and other people-centred programmes.

Some of the beneficiaries applauded the Lawmaker for training and empowering them and promised to ensure to make good use of what they learnt, the inputs and funds disbursed to them.
