A member of the National Assembly from Niger state representing Niger East Senatorial zone Senator Sani Musa three one three has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to as a matter of urgency heed to the calls by some prominent Nigerians to declare bandits as terrorists. 

The law maker made the appeal in a statement issued to Newsmen in Minna over the recent abduction of travellers on Zungeru Garin Gabas highway in Rafi Local Government Council of Niger state.

Senator Sani Musa maintained that unless and until these criminals are tagged as terrrorist security agencies will not have the unfettered power to treat them the way they should be treated.

He however appealed to security agencies in Niger state to redouble efforts to speedily secure the release of abducted travellers from the clutches of their abductors.

He said quick release of the innocent travellers will save them alot of trauma as well as save their family from unnecessary apprehension.

Senatot Sani Musa would also wants security agencies to collaborate and quickly mount an aggressive manhunt for those behind the abduction of these travellers to serve as detterent to others.

The law maker called on President Muhammadu Buhari to further direct the military to intensify their efforts by redeploying their men and equipments to Zungeru and adjoining forests in Niger state to flush out criminals.

It could be recalled that the Senate will next week transmit it’s resolution to President Muhammadu Buhari urging him to declare bandits as terrorists.
