National Agricultural Seed Council (NASC) has advised farmers to make contact with Seed companies for genuine seeds and seedlings.

The Regional Director, North West, Uban Doma Hudu Muhammad gave the advice at a farmers field day organized by the Council at Sakaru Village in Soba Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Uban Doma Hudu exp[ained that government policies on agriculture have helped farmers to make more profits than ever before.

He said the present administration was working tirelessly at ensuring that Nigeria record a bumper harvest of food crops.

Uban Doma Hudu commended the effort of the present administration for support to farmers and agriculture since its assumption in office.

He similarly, used the occasion to advise communities to put heads together towards approaching Seed Companies on how to get quality seed easily as and when due.

The Regional Director enjoined youths to see farming as a profit-making venture and key into farming activities for a better living.

In a message, the Zonal Manager, KADA Maigana Zone, Ahmed Abubakar who was represented by Ishaq Abubakar Shika congratulated farmers and the Seed Companies for the landmark’s achievement.

He emphasized the need for farmers to always use correct and genuine Seed in their farms for a bumper harvest.

Ahmed Abubakar also advised farmers to accept new methods of farming that involve the use of technologies and put into practice what they have learned.

While explaining the success story Of The demonstration farm, a farmer Malam Abdullahi said despite late planting and drought noted that the results were excellent.

The field day was organized in collaboration with Seed Companies that provide farmers with varieties of Seed which they showcased.
