The Borno state Police Command has paraded seventy six suspects for committing various offences across the state in the last one month.

Briefing newsmen at headquarters of the Command in Maiduguri, Commissioner of Police Abdu Umar said the crimes included criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, armed robbery, kidnapping, rape, possession of dangerous weapons and forgery.

CP Abdu Umar said among the suspects are two members of civilian JTF Saleh Mohammed and Umar Sulieman attached to Sector 9 arrested for allegedly stabbing one Abubakar Ahmed at his stomach and died on the spot.

The deceased Abubakar Ahmed who was the Head Teacher of Asheikh Jarma model school Bulumkutu in Maiduguri Metropolis was killed on 11th October in his house Bulumkutu Abuja by unknown gunmen in a tricycle.

He explained that another three suspects have been arrested for criminal conspiracy and kidnapping in Yaulari village Biu local government. 

According to the Commissioner of Police, the suspects kidnapped the son of one Alhaji Abdul Ganshipa and demanded the sum of ten million naira but subsequently collected five hundred thousand naira from the victim. 

CP Abdu Umar added that the police had succeeded in the recovery of the exhibit, a pair of trousers and have launched a manhunt for the remaining eight suspects. 

“After some days, the victim identified his trousers collected from him by his abductors in possession of the 1st suspect Dauda Musa alias Daddy who confessed and led crack detectives on FOB at Biu to the arrest of the two other suspects”.

The Commissioner of Police assured the public of a crime free state.
