Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Saad Abubakar has declared Friday the eighth of October 2021 as the first day of Rabiu Awwal 1443 after hijira.
This was made known in a statement by the Sarkin Malaman Sokoto and secretary Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs Sultanate Council Sokoto, Yahaya Muhammad Boyi for the Chairman of the Committee, Prof. Sambo Wali Junaidu.
He said the declaration followed a report by the National Moon Sighting Committee confirming the sighting of the new Moon of Rabiu Awwal 1443AH on Thursday seventh of October 2021
