Nigeria has expressed appreciation to China for assisting to fill infrastructure gaps in the Country.

President Muhammadu Buhari stated this while hosting the outgoing Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Nigeria, Dr Zhou Pingjian, at a virtual farewell audience.

 The President noted that China had played its role effectively in all the Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) signed with Nigeria and thus asked the envoy to extend Nigeria’s appreciation to President Xi Jinping for the contributing to construction of rail, roads, airports and power facilities.

President Buhari said no nation can develop with infrastructural deficit.

The outgoing Ambassador, Dr Pingjian who had been in the country since September 2016, described his tour of duty as highly rewarding.

He expressed appreciation to the Federal Government and Nigerians for accommodating him.

Dr Pingjian affirmed that he was privileged to visit all the 36 states of the country and had  seen the remarkable progress being made under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Ambassador noted that in about 50 years of Nigeria-China relations, both countries had enjoyed best of relations under President Muhammadu Buhari.
