Nigerians have been Charged to Embrace Peace and Eschew divisive tendencies aimed at Enhancing National Development.
The Minister of information And Culture Alhaji Lai Mohammad stated this during the Annual Lecture Organized by National institute for Cultural Orientation NICO ,held at the center for Democratic Studies ,Bayero University Kano.
He said the main objectives of the Annual Lecture was to make Nigerians Focus More on the Values that would unite the Nation.
The Minister noted that a sustainable Cultural Orientation and Education programme was very critical geared towards promoting a deeper understanding of the Strengthen Diversity.
Alhaji Lai Mohammad Maintained that the Administration of president Mohammadu Buhari appreciates the delicate relationship between National Unity and Development,Stressing that if if National unity and national integration were not Strengthened ,the National Development Agenda would be a mirage.
In his welcome Address the Executive Secretary chief Executive officer of the National Institute For Cultural Orientation Alhaji Ado Muhammad Yahuza the public lecture was organized inline with the Agency’s Statutory mandate of effecting Sense of Cultural Direction for Nigerians and policy makers towards Harnessing Culture for National Development.
” Over the years ,the NICO public lectures series have successfully stirred intellectual discourse on topical cultural matters thereby sensitizing Nigerians to the Strategic importance of Culture to National Development”
Declaring the ceremony opened, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje represented by the permanent secretary minister for Tourism Alhaji Zakari Sadiq said the lecture was very timely,aimed at Enhancing National unity and Development.
The lecture Themed Culture and the Management of Diversity in Nigeria was presented by professor Mohammad Sani Abdulkadir.
The Occasion was graced by participants from different parts of the country.
