The National Headquarters of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has annulled the suspension of the Chairman Kebbi State, Haruna Saidu, and 3 other national officers of the party as earlier announced by the state branch of the party.

This was confirmed in a letter signed by the National Secretary, Sen Ibrahim Umar Tsauri, and made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi.

“Our attention has been drawn to the purported suspension of some of our key leaders in Kebbi State, namely; Hajia Maria Waziri—National Women Leader, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, (SAN)—Board of Trustees Member, (BOT) and Major General Bello SarkinYaki (retd), Haruna  Sa’idu—State Chairman”, the letter read in part.

The letter also described the moves of Messrs Abubakar Garba Basse, Umaru Isa Mungadi, and others as unlawful and unconstitutional which could result in the breach of the peace in the state if left unchecked.

“We wish to re-state that, Haruna Sa’idu remains the lawful and authentic Chairman of the PDP in Kebbi State”, the National Headquarters of the party said, noting that steps had been taken to invoke appropriate sanctions and punitive measures against the erring individuals.

Recalled that on September 27, 2021, the Kebbi State Vice Chairman of the party, Garba Abubakar Basse, announced the suspension of the State Chairman of the party, Haruna Musa, Board of Trustee (BOT) member and former Minister of Special Duties, Kabiru Tanimu, National Executive Council (NEC) member and one time State Governorship candidate of the PDP, Major General Bello SarkinYaki (retd) and National Women Leader, Maria Waziri which said, the suspension was as a result of arbitrariness and party sabotage by the suspended officers.
